Important Questions brought up by members

    Photoshop Plug-ins

    • How do you install a photoshop plug-in?
    • Many Photoshop plug-ins are excuatble when you download or install them, meaning they put themselves in the right place. Other wise you’ll need to move the plug-in file into the following location:
      C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Plug-Ins

    Flash Compnets

    • Can you make your own components?
Yes, you can. Flash Components are just movie clips with defined parameters that are set during document authoring. Parameters correspond to variables in the ActionScript attached to the movie clip, which control the behavior and appearance of the movie clip. You create your component and then save it to the component files into the Components folder inside the Flash application folder on your hard drive.

Important Questions brought up by members

    Photoshop Express

    • What types of pictures can be uploaded?
Web Safe images can be uploaded, such as JPEG, GIF, and PNG
    • What resolution can you download the images?
Photoshop Express allows you to download your image at 3 different pixel sizes, these sizes differ depending on the the original size of the image.
    • Are there any crashing issues?
No, Photoshop Express is a really stable online application.

    Adobe Media Player

    • Can you upload personal videos?
Yes, you can upload and play videos in Adobe Media player. It is especially useful for playing FLV videos. Although Adobe Media Player boost the ability to create a channel and allow your videos to be views by all Adobe Meida Player, this feature seems only for corporation partners such as CBS and MTV. Their site gives little information on how to set up your own channel just the benefits of doing so.
    • Can you scale your videos?
Much of the content you download from the Adobe Media Player channels are HD quality and can be scaled to play at full screen. The originally size of the video really determines if the video can be scaled. So, far all the video can be played in the video window or at full screen with clarity.
    • Are there any downsides to Adobe Media Player?
Adobe Media Players’ content library is limited to few channels. Although Adobe Media Player boast that you can download you favorite shows and watch them off-line almost all the channels require you to stream and prevent download. Another major issue is that Adobe Media Player has a tendency to crash periodically while streaming.

    Kuler

    • Searching Problems?
Occasionally Kuler’s search features seem to be down. This limits what you can do on their site.
    • Can you manually pick colors from the Image Extractor?
Yes, you can choose a mood of colors to extract from your image. For example you can choose vivid, and Kuler will select the most vivid colors from the image, or if you choose muted, Kuler will select the muted colors from the image. The custom options allows you to choose the colors you want from the image.
    • Can Kuler retrieve pantone colors?
No, not at this time, however this might be a good feature to add to Kuler. My suggestion is to send feedback to adobe about having a pantone generator in Kuler.

    BuzzWord

    • Can documents be emailed?
Yes you’ll first need to download the document, then they can be attached to an email.
    • What are some of the limitations?
Too few fonts to choose from, only 7.
    • Can you add tables?
Yes you can add tables, you can even choose the cell colors, and border colors.
    • Will is import Word Documents?
      Yes.
    • Can you save out as a Word Document?
Yes. Buzzword allows you to save out in a variety of formats, including rtf, 97-200 word format and 2007 word format.
    • Is Buzzword a cross platform application?
Buzzword is an online application that you access through your internet browser. Because of that it should have no problems being used on a variety of platforms.
    Closings 6:45 – 7:10
Those present suggested that our next meeting dates be on a Tuesday night, Thus being June 3, 2008 at 6:00 PM. They would also like to see a lecture on Photoshop Plug-ins, and other adobe plug-ins that are available.
